This banquet is a party to celebrate a great year of fencing and is for every fencer, not just those who have competed. We will be handing out prizes to every member of MFA and the Helena Fencers we've come to know this year. In addition, we will have awards for the high point winners for the Missoula Youth Cup. We will not be awarding prizes for every youth cup event since some of them have seldom run. At the tournament on the 18th we will run only the events we plan to award trophies and medals for. These are: Y12 Foil, Y14 Foil, Epee and Saber, U19 Foil, Epee and Saber. The first place points finisher in each event will receive a trophy and 2nd and 3rd place will receive medals. The results of the final tournament count so you won't want to miss the competition on the 18th. You can find out your current standings by visiting http://askfred.net/Results/pointsLists.php We are asking for early sign-up for the tournament so we can make adjustments if need be to accommodate the banquet scheduling. The tournament will be held at Schreiber gym and our goal is to have the tournament finish by 6:00 so we can start the banquet by 6:30. *If you plan to compete. please register by the 13th of June.* Also, there's a good chance we won't be able to accommodate fencers competing in two different events scheduled at the same time. You can sign up for both, but know that you may have to scratch an event on tournament day to keep things moving. Banquet Plans: We will be meeting at Castle Park, next to Lowell School, for a picnic potluck dinner. Castle Park is located at the Philips and Scott street intersection. After we eat, we will head over to our new location for the awards ceremony. *Pot Luck Assignments:* Helena familes-beverages, cups, plates, napkins and eating utensils (we are planning on about 75 people) Missoula families: (please bring enough to serve 7-10 people) Last name begins with A-K--main dish Last name begins with L-R--salad Last name begins with S-W--dessert Please bring all serving utensils etc, that your dish will need. I don't believe there are any grills in this park so if you plan to barbecue you will need to bring a grill. YOU MAY WANT TO BRING A CHAIR OR BLANKET TO SIT ON. Please let me know if you have any questions about the planned events on the 18th. I'm looking forward to getting the whole group together for a kick off to summer! Let's hope we have some summer weather on that day. Laura ------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this message.
