Starting the week of Oct19th (next week) fencing will be from 7:00PM until 8:30PM Tuesdays and Thursdays only. We apologize to those who this will inconvenience. We are going to try and get some time on the weekend, probably in the morning, for anyone who is interested. Please check with Cara O'Donnell about the epee class. Beginning foil will continue on Tuesdays, but with the shortened schedules, any fencer is welcome on either day. Thanks for your understanding. High tech may provide some nice benefits to fencers in Wyoming, especially clubs, divisions, ot groups that have continous faulty equipment, low to no budget. Take a look and...well, remember as a youngster, when you'd see something from a catalogue and you found yourself daydreaming about the fun you would have? Just do that. Introducing... the Virtual Scoring Machine: VSM VSM 2.0 Rel B Screenshot VSM system product pix Simply put: it turns your Windows PC, laptop, or netbook into a full-featured, three weapon scoring machine with integrated scoring and time. A variety of remote controls are also available. There is no better scoring machine on the planet. That's a pretty bold statement, but I think I can back it up with facts. First: it's inexpensive. The custom hardware interface together with the VSM application program runs about as much as a decent lam?. Second: the features are unsurpassed by any other machine and includes innovations exclusive to VSM. Third: it is customizable to your needs. Fourth: since it's software-based, new features that are added are yours simply by downloading the latest version. Oh yeah, and if the FIE changes any of the timing rules, you can just type in the new numbers yourself. Presto, instantly up-to-date. Fifth: it's way cool. All the sounds can be customized to any sound you want. Sixth: it scales up for impact and down for portability. Use it on an ultra-portable netbook, or project it onto the wall with an LCD projector or a big-screen TV. Okay, there's more, but I think I made my case. VSM was released at last year's Summer Nationals, and has been adopted by individuals and clubs across the country (and even as far away as Kuala Lumpur). So I made a bunch more. So buy one. Buy two, even. Here's some news: Now there's a low-cost reel-set that compliments the VSM scoring solution. I'm calling them the "V-Reels". Kinda like the I-Phone and the I-Pod. But with V-s, and fencing stuff. VSM Rel B Screen Shot V-Reels operate sort of like regular reels and a little like a bungee system. The idea was to keep costs down, reliability up, and retain maximum portability and convenience. Current prices and ordering information are available here: Products and Prices. As an introductory offer, the cost of a complete package of the VSM scoring system including a set of V-Reels is only $350. That's pretty close to the cost of a single reel elsewhere. But wait, there's more... Since it's software based, VSM can be updated frequently with new features. "Release B" of the application software is now shipping with new purchases. If you already own a VSM system, this update is available for download (free!). Click HERE . Want to know more?
