| FIE: The Federation Internationale d'Escrime
Please note that this web site is in Frence. You can view a translation of the web site here. This is the international organization that governs the sport of fencing. I particular, the FIE specifies rules and requirements for international and Olympic fencing competition. |
| USFA: The United States Fencing Association
This is the governing body for sport or 'Olympic' style fencing in the United States. You must be a memeber of the USFA in order to compete in USFA sanctioned competitions. The USFA also the US member of the FIE and rates US fencers for international competitions. You will find lots of information on sport fencing here, including how to find clubs, various sponsored programs, FAQs and competition results. There are other organziations covering things like historical fencing such as the Association for Historical Fencing, The Association of Renaissance Martial Arts (ARMA), and the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). |
